Mike decided to run around our block- which is exactly a mile if you round the cul-de-sac. He ran it in 9 minutes and 6 seconds. I thought it sounded great too. I took off jogging and about 2 minutes in I wondered what am I doing. I was huffing and puffing like crazy. Then I thought, I am challenging myself against the clock. I stopped jogging and began power walking, I ignored the trash men, I watched out for ice on the walk and made it home in 14 minutes and 22 seconds.

I can't run anymore...it's a no-no since the car wreck. (Too much impact will get the arthritis started sooner than my doctors would like.)
ReplyDeleteYou were on a four mph pace. That's really good.
Wow, ty for your comment on my blog about the flour! I cannot BELIEVE I never thought of that! You so just helped me.
ReplyDeleteIs your husband related to Mighty Mouse?
My husband is 135 pounds and has been exercising at the rate for me to lose 40+ pounds. He has been my exercise partner since I started this last year- so he is a mighty mouse. Too funny.
ReplyDeleteMichelle, you have amazing attention to detail!! Who would have thought to think how many miles per hour I averaged except possibly the my wife's high school salutatorian (Did I spell that right?). I am a science/math guy and did not get around to calculating my average speed. Beth always told me that she liked hanging around the "smart" ones.
ReplyDeleteMike, I think you were going 6 mph, right? (10 minutes for 1 mile would be 6 miles in an hour.) Beth, at 15 minutes for 1 mile would finish 4 miles in an hour.
ReplyDeleteBut remember, I was a journalism major, so I could be completely wrong on that. :)
